Charlie Ford, CEO of Operations / San Juan Hub Manager
CEO

My name is Charlie Ford and I serve as CEO of Operations as well as the San Juan Hub Manager here at TWVA. Growing up, I spent much of my childhood around TWA as my granddad served as Flight Engineer (Convair 880, 727), First Officer(727, DC9, L-1011), and Captain (MD80). The thrills of being 6yrs old and sitting in the Captains seat of a 747 flipping switches and acting like I was landing the checkerboard approach and lets just say I was hooked early! After graduating high school, I attended a flight academy in St. Louis where I earned all my ratings up to CFI. Today, I serve as a certified flight instructor in the St. Louis area and look forward to one day following in my granddad's footsteps.

As for my Flight Simming, I joined TWVA in 2002 as a new pilot with 0 hours. By that time, TWVA had just retired the DC-9 from the fleet. I worked my way through the regional fleet and now hold a Category 4 type Rating and rank of Senior Captain. I have roughly 500 hours flown with TWVA since joining. In 2004, I started my first staff role as the Los Angeles Hub Manager and served that role till moving to the Caribbean and taking over as the Hub Manager for the new San Juan hub in 2010 where I currently serve. After earning my wings and showing the dedication to the airline, I was asked to take over as CEO in 2005. Humbled and excited, I accepted and have served that role since. With the help of the wonderful staff and our combined ideas and contributions, I think we have created and maintaned one of the best virtual airlines out there in the flight sim community and I hope you will agree and continue the ride with us.

Doug Moeller, Vice President of Operations
VPOPS

Like many others I started flight simming back in '98 and joined a VA in 2000, I was with them for just under ten years. I started as a pilot, when to HM. The last two years I was there I was taken aboard as Sr. Vice President. In that time, at its peak, we had better than 300 pilots, almost 45-50 pilots in our hubs! Since we assigned flights you might say we kept quite busy. As we all know, all good things must come to an end, as did my stay with that VA, and I joined Trans World Virtual Airlines in June of 2010.

I have lived in the collars of O’Hare my whole life and I have been married to my wife Sally for 32 years. We have two grown girls Kim and Amanda. Amanda was married back on 9-3-2010. I enjoy bowling, racquetball, softball and of course my first love is model railroading and I have a large HO scale railroad in my basement.

Marty Barnes, Los Angeles Hub Manager
KLAX

Marty is a graduate of the University of Arkansas, (PIGGG --- SOOOOOIE), with a background in defense aerospace systems and information technology. He has an avid interest in all things aviation with a keen eye towards the WWII era aircraft. His first experience with a 'flight simulator' was on a Texas Instruments Pegasus computer and featured a whopping two colors (black background with green lines). But the hook was set, and he has been involved with the evolution of flight sim from those early days to its' current state of FSX. He and his wife of almost 30 years reside in a small dot of a town in South Arkansas. They have one son and are expecting a daugther-in-law in 2012.

Roy Rodriguez , Kansas City Hub Manager
KMCI

I was bitten by the flight sim bug back when Microsoft had MSFS 5.1 and have been simming ever since. I had originally joined TWVA back in 1999 and had left to be a HM at another virtual airline. I came back to TWVA in 2011 and I'm glad to be back home at TWVA.

I'm from New York City and currently live in one of the outer boroughs (Brooklyn), and since 2001 have worked for quite a few real-world airlines (Delta, Chautauqua, Old Continental and now ExpressJet) in various positions from Ticketing/Gates, Inflight, Cargo, Operations and back into Inflight again.

I usually enjoy long-haul flights and one of my all time favorite aircraft is the MD11. I have a soft spot for the real TWA - never being able to have the pleasure to work for them but I have flown on them several times between JFK and Orlando during my younger years and I do miss seeing them in the New York area.

Scott Clawson , New York Hub Manager
KJFK

Flight Sim has turned into almost an obsession. Never being one to fly because of an incident years ago, I never thought I would enjoy this hobby. Boy was I wrong.

I am orginally from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, but have lived in the Mid West most of my life. I am a retired manager for United Parcel Service. My wife Christina and I are currently living in Indianapolis, Indiana and plan to move to either South Carolina or Georgia in the future. We have 2 grown daughters and 5 grandkids. Christina is my Chief Flight Attendant and helps control my flight hours.

I have a good friend who has helped further my interest in flight! He is also a member here at TWA.

Perry Fincher , St. Louis Hub Manager
KSTL

My name is Perry Fincher, Hub Manager for St. Louis. I live in Texas and have been here for the past 20 years with my wife and daughter (who is attending Abilene Christian University). I served one tour in the Navy as an AOAN (Aviation Ordinance) onboard the USS John F. Kennedy.

Aircraft have always been my passion, but sadly I do not have a pilot license. I have been flying with Microsoft Flight Simulator for many years and have come acquainted with flying for virtual airlines since 2009.
